Wow, your good at Norwegian! Yeah, you can upload the photos and post it here?dave brum wrote:Hello Marius! Jeg ha savnet du dags dato!!!
Jeg er okay takk skal du ha. HEY, JEG KANNE SNAKKE NORSK!!!
I had a really good day in Worcester AND I went in the piano shop and played some exam pieces and 'Liberty Bell' on their secondhand acoustics. They had two reconditioned acoustics in their shop, a huge black Chappell that sounded really neat and raw, and was on sale at £475, and a really nice baby upright that sounded a bit more refined, and was a bit more expensive (£500). I feel like a proper piano player now I can just walk into a piano shop and sit down and play, Marius!!!
I have a load of photos to upload and send to you, and some library books about pianos!
What have you been doing today, Marius?
Sorry for i didnt answear! But im gonna play some film songs, i dont remember the names. And im gonna play the drum setdave brum wrote:It's going to take me a while to upload all of the photos onto my hard drive and upload them, so please excuse me if it takes me a long time.
I got a another book on sight reading and notation today, I'll scan some pages from that as well once I have looked at it myself. I have only had a cup of tea, fed the cats, gone to the toilet and straight onto the computer! I have emailed my piano teacher also. The shopping bag is still full!!
Don't you love these online translators?? They're fun!! (tho I can remember God dag and skal du ha, but I have no idea how to read and pronounce Norwegian )
What will your corps be playing at your concert tomorrow, Marius??
Heheh! Im gonna watch that thread Dave!dave brum wrote:Hey Marius!
I've just been watching a movie on DVD 'This is Spinal Tap' haven't seen it for years!!! And there's a small bit of piano playing in it!!!
so I did some practising this morning and I'm going to do a lot more later. Oh by the way I always blog about my piano lessons on here, Marius! I do it in the 'Idle chit chatterers corner' thread! Don't forget to read it on Saturday afternoon - I suppose I could call it 'Confessions Of A Piano Learner'!!!!
I had a good daydave brum wrote:Hey Marius
Welcome back from school! Did you have a good day?
Anna (Moonlight) will be having her FIRST EVER piano lesson at 15.00 UK time, she's done so well teaching herself to play just like me and she's absolutely crazy about pianos and making music. Though she likes to play classical music in particular! I hope she has a good lesson and enjoys herself!
I am here on my own again, and I'm doing LOADS of practising and coffee drinking!!!!!!!
Good No, its a big corps, whit all instruments. We are around 65 people. And the age are around 18-60. But i play in another corps to, and that is school corps.dave brum wrote:Yeah, I've worked out how to listen to the songs on the Suoni website - easy really! So is there a sort of junior drum corps that you play in, or how does it work, Marius?
Yeah, maybe that ! We was in America last year, very cool! And the corps have been in Beijing, but i was not in the corps, when they have the trip! :/dave brum wrote:Maybe Suoni will play in the UK very soon, at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen every year they have bands and choirs from all over the world so perhaps Suoni could play there one year??
I'm waiting for Anna to come online and blog about her piano lesson. She lives in East London and she can walk to where she has to go for her lesson. I'm so eager to find out how she got on, Marius!!! I want her to do well.
Do you have any brothers or sisters, Marius? And do they play a musical instrument like you do?
Yes, John Carew was there. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is Norwegian yesdave brum wrote:No! Was John Carew in the Norway side? He plays for Aston Villa football club in Birmingham! and isn't Ola Gunnar Solsjaer Norwegian (or is he Swedish or Danish?)
England are playing too, but you've got to pay to watch that live the highlights are on ITV1 later and Teresa wants to watch them.
Did you go on the piano since you've been home from school, Marius?
Hello Dave I have been fine today! Just playing some boogie on the piano now..hehe!dave brum wrote:Hiya Marius!
Missed talking to you today! How have you been?
I've posted another picture of me and my friend louttrim (who is also learning the piano, you have seen her make posts on this page!) when we met two weeks ago in Hereford..Look in the Welcome to the Piano Lounge thread.
I have been to school today Hehe.dave brum wrote:Hey Marius So good to talk to you again my friend!
What's this? No school today then?
I have been playing too, got to practise this one piece that I want to impress my teacher with tomorrow. I could try and record it and email it over if you like! Will be good practise to play for someone else before I have to play for teacher tomorrow!!!
Hello Teresa !dave brum wrote:Okay, after dinner I will record 'Liberty Bell' for you and send it over. Don't know how many takes it will need tho!!!!!
My wife is back from work right now, she says Hi, Marius!
Oh, I can't wait for my piano lesson tomorrow. Though I do not want to get over confident as if I do, I will make mistakes
Hi Marius!Marius wrote:Oh, good luck Anna!!
You can do it Davedave brum wrote:Hiya Marius!!
Sorry I have been a long time. I have been to the supermarket, spent 33 pounds, and now I'm back to catch up with you!
Teresa wants to hear me play something for tomorrow. Which is unlike her as she is not into pianos like I am!! But it is always difficult! I feel more nervous playing in front of my wife than in front of my teacher!!
What are you doing tonight, Marius??
Yep, its better to find a good teatcher, so you learn something.Moonlight wrote:Hi Marius!Marius wrote:Oh, good luck Anna!!
Thanks for that, but I'm not sure if I liked my lesson / teacher much so I am finding another teacher.
Anyway how are you? Hope your concert / gig went ok!
Yeah, me and Dave and Teresa will meet up soon in London and I will take them to a big music shop there, it should be fun .
Been busy for some days Dave. I have checkd my e-mail. And you getting better and better!! Keep going Dave.dave brum wrote:Hi Marius!
Wish there was a car race here! Nothing ever goes on here, you have to go to Worcester to see some 'action'
So I have been doing lots of my Hanon piano exercises today, and looking at my homework that my teacher has given me for next time. I have to do a duet with her on 'The Entertainer' and I've got the high notes! I do not like reading music where both hands are written in the treble clef, or the bass clef. So that is why she has given me 2 pieces with both hands in the treble clef!
Heheh, yeah i understand Dave. I also get nervous when im recording something.dave brum wrote:Thanks, Marius!! How are you? Did I tell you what my piano teacher said about me doing my Grade 1 next year?
Six months ago I would never have been able to record myself playing anything because I would get nervous knowing the mobile phone voice recorded is laying on my leg! amd I'd just completely f*ck things up!!!
I've got some really awkward pieces for homework - and 'The Entertainer' I love Scott Joplin!
Good day at school, my friend? What have you been doing today??
I have the sound files But it want send it on my e-mail :S I dont know whydave brum wrote:I had no idea that it was that late! It's 15.00 here in the uk, so it's 16.00 there and you would have finished school!
Do you still have those sound files of your playing, Marius! I'm itching to hear you play, Mister Pianoman!!!!

Wow, he was quite good to play piano! Just great !dave brum wrote:This is for you, Marius! Mr.James Toseland playing piano on the BBC Sports Personality last December!!
Go to Youtube and search 'james toseland piano' and you'll see loads of videos of him playing, Marius!!
Look out for Shaun Murphy the snooker player. He plays piano too!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvnrFQx0lTg
Heheh. You most practise a lot Dave. And you gonna get itdave brum wrote:Just been trying to play this thing I learned a few months ago (it's Just The Way You Are, the old Billy Joel song) and then I could play it almost perfectly, now I'm really bad at it!!!
And I've been learning a new Christmas carol too!
Thats true Dave!!dave brum wrote:I really love my piano, Marius! It's the best thing I ever did in almost 39 years. If my mother had let me tale piano lessons as a child, I would probably be a famous concert pianist by now!!
I never have to be told to practise my piano, Marius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On next years Grade 2 exam syllabus there's a piano adaptation of an Eric Clapton song!!!
The day have been greatdave brum wrote:Hiya Marius!
Yeah, I'm fine thanks. We've been up to Birmingham today on the train to get one or two Christmas presents for our friends. But it's a bit sad because the only shop there that sells sheet music is closing down in November there's a massive guitar shop that also sells one or two digital pianos but not much in the way of sheet music and certainly no AB exam stuff.
How's your day been??? Been to school?
Its snow here Dave A little cold.dave brum wrote:Hey Marius! Great to hear from you, my friend?
It's very cold here in the UK and I've got some whiskey to warm me up here!!! Yeah, not heard of Karoline Kruger (I'm guessing she's German or Austrian) but it is a beautiful song. And she's so sexy (but don't tell my wife I said that!!!) I have heard of Jahn Teigen, I can remember him doing 'Mil Etter Mil' in 1978, and the poor guy didn't get a single point!!
I googled him and he's still making music today!!
Have you sent me something new?dave brum wrote:so if that Eurovision clip was from 1988, she would be the same age as me then - 38! Wonder if she still looks as sexy!
I've just had a bad practise session on the piano, but that's nothing to do with the whiskey! For me the only way out of a bad practise session is more and more pravtise and it will slowly turn into a good practise session!
I've got to start cooking my wife's dinner, she finishes work at 21.00 and she will not be happy if she hasn't got a hot meal waiting for her when she gets back!!!!!!!!!
How are you finding that stuff that I sent you, Marius?
No problem Dave We all have much to do this days before christmas Im also very tired today.dave brum wrote:Hey Marius!
Sorry I missed your playing tonight. I've been really busy tonight and this is the first time I've been on the computer tonight! And I'm really tired right now. I've cooked, washed, and wrapped more Christmas presents!!
Just to say I have definately not forgotten you, my friend Marius!!!
Oh, i understanddave brum wrote:Hey Marius Sorry X 1000
First I have been busy, then I went up to Manchester to see my friend (shes a piano teacher) Then I wasn't too well, then I was busy again....
but don't worry you're still my friend Marius Don't know much about Roland keyboards. Markymark is your main man for all things to do with digital pianos and keyboards. Start a thread in the 'Digital Pianos' section and as sure as the sky is blue, he'll get back to you and offer his expert opinion!!!!!!
Also I'm a bit upset as I've had to stop going to my piano lessons. I only go once a month anyway and my wife can't afford it any more - but I'm sure I'll sort something out very soon as I WANT to keep taking lessons!
Oh, maybe i get it this week Hope so Im gonna post a card to you tomorrowdave brum wrote:What are you doing tonight, Marius?
My wife is watching a football DVD downstairs - and her team is playing tonight so it might be on BBC Radio 5 Live (UK wide news and sport radio station) later on.
I posted your card today. I have never posted anything to go outside the UK before in my life! and I didnt know how much it was going to cost. I thought it might be about 1 pound but it was only 50p!
Yeah, i know i have to start somewhere.dave brum wrote:Hey Marius, give yourself a chance, you're only 17!!! Even Elton John and Jools Holland had to start somewhere!
JH's annual 'Hootenanny' is on again on New Years Eve, on BBC 2. I always try to record it. Kate Nash (British singer-pianist from London) was on there last year. I don't really like her but I'll watch anything piano related!
