SCHUMANN PIANO CO., was established c1893 at 123 La Salle, Chicago, they moved to Rockford, ill. in 1903. They also made Barnes & Sons and Plymouth pianos.
The company was purchased by Estey Piano Corp., 237 N. Union, Bluffton, Indiana. Some pianos may have Estey serial numbers. In 1979 the name was acquired by Family Melody Centre, 215 South Service Rd., Plainview, N. Y. 11803. In Oct. 1989 the name was sold to Intl. Inc. 77 So. Ocean Ave., Patchogue, N. Y. 11772. and the pianos were made by Samick
