Hilton & Hilton
Post by stevenjacobs »
Hello everyone, can you help me find out about a piano left to me by a friend? It's got Hilton & Hilton on it & J Tule & son in Durham. I would love to find out more about her as it was a lovely gesture that it was left to me. Thanks

The piano seems to be a Hilton & Hilton, sold by Tule. Hilton & Hilton seem to have been around from at least the 1880s to the 1920s, and their uprights of the twenties are dated under the keys, see

I'll see what I can find out about Tule.

Hi
I've just aquired a Hilton and Hilton gold series upright with the serial number 7694 stamped inside. Am I to assume from the previous posts that my piano was probably made in the late 1800s?
Any advice gratefully received
regards,
Richard Grantham

Most pianos have several numbers inside, so it is not possible be sure that this is the correct one. Even then, we don't have definite dates for any this early, but it might be around 1900. Is it possible that you could upload images of the whole piano here, or email them to me?
