Lakeside Piano Co

Recently my husband and I received an Upright Grand Piano. Under the cover for the keys it says
"Lakeside-Chicago-Upright Grand". Can anyone please help us in finding out anything about the manufactures of this piano or even a way we might be able to date this. Many thanks

The Lakeside Piano Co. was established in 1874, and serial number dates are availble from 1903 to 1949, IF you can find the right number! Otherwise, I have little experience of pianos from that side of the ocean. I'm embarassed how many times I direct forum enquiries to my PianoGen website, but look at Booklets / Datemarks & Numbers.

I'm sorry, we seem to be at cross-purposes! The article on Datemarks will help you to locate possible clues to date in the piano, and the article on Numbers will, regardless of name, help you to understand the pros and cons of using numbers as a guide to date. If you can find Lakeside's numbers inside the piano, usually quite visible inside the top, I can look these up.

my son and I searched the entire piano and found a number inside on the wire board 50180 or might be 50F80

I was given a Lakeside Piano. The numbers inside is 130601. I know it was made prior to 1942 as it was tuned in 42,48,52 (twice), and 53. Would you be able to know what year it was manufactured?
