John Spencer piano

Post by alanhill »

Hello. I am trying to obtain further information on our Piano. It is a John Spencer & Co. London Piano in a Walnut (?) finish and is marked as "specially manufactured" for John G Murdoch & Co in Edinburgh. The Serial Number is 12782 and also has a "2B" above the Serial Number. I have this item (with pictures now, hopefully) within the For Sale section and wondered if I am asking the correct price of only 300 pounds. Any information you can provide would be of great help. Many Thanks Alan Hill

Valuation is impossible without on-the-spot inspection, and no-one anywhere has the life history of every piano, but I can quote for printing general information about Spencer and/or Murdoch. As I have said in the other postings, the early published numbers are wrong, and the best estimate of date is 1889. The Model is 2B.

Bill

Thank You very much for your reply.

I am trying to edit the add in the For Sale section to reflect your comments above but it keeps telling me I have to be the owner of the advert to amend it.

I have had to delete the old add and create a new one with the new decription and details which is now awaiting approval.

Thanks again.
