Doe skin is to soft you need the roughness of leather for back checks, Doe skin is good for rollers (notches)But would not last long on back checks

You can buy from fletchers However, there are quite a few supply houses in the US who would sell it cheaper as you would have to pay shipping for the UK

They will if you live out site the UK it just an gentlemans agreement they have with the UK piano trade to stop DIYers
