you'll see that the published information about Collard numbers is wrong, and these short numbers don't help very much. If you email me at that site, you could send photos, and I might be able to tell you more. Dale Forty will have sold it after 1873, perhaps secondhand. No-one can trace the life history of every piano, but there may be clues inside it. What is this signature? And what kind of piano is it?
