There are problems with the earlier numbers published for Spencer, and although these suggest that 41254 is 1906, my estimate would put it nearer 1903. A. Shute is probably a worker at the factory.

Hi Bill,
I hope you can help with an approx date for my John Specer and Co piano. I've read a lot of info on your site but haven't found a list of serial numbers for these.
The serial number is 21379.

The number suggests that it was made around 1893, but the photo is not clear enough to show any useful detail.
