I have this piano that I bought from a neighbor and was wondering if anyone knew any history about it?

J.C. Browne didn't make pianos until about a century ago, how did you arrive at the date?

That is very good to know!! I found this information on the piano itself. After my last entry on the piano, I found other info on it. Underneath the flap covering the keys it says: J.C. Browne, 154 Brecknock rd., Camden Rd., London.n. Then on the piano itself it says: Upright Iron Grand Full Trichord, Cape Action. Then next to that it says: supplied by H.A. Seeger Ltd. Liverpool. Then I found a #2531 on the top left hand corner. Does this mean anything to you because it really has stumped me. Thank You!!!

Are you saying that 1846 is written on the piano? This is not the date of manufacture. Could you please tell me the complete, exact wording on the piano? And is it Seager with an A in it? No dates of numbers are available for this maker. If you have logged in, you can use the link below to view my Datemarks page.

everything that i wrote in the last segement was everything on the piano. I was given that date or around that date, this piano was sold at a garage sale for $100.00. Try in between 1840 to 1850 maybe? :?

Browne wasn't at that address until after 1899. Seager had not become a limited company by 1914. See
