We could get into extensive discussion of what constitutes a "baby grand", a term that was not used in the 1800s. Although this name has come up before, I have no information at all on the firm so far. I can't even trace Sandwirthgasse, although it obviously sounds german. If you know how to remove the action (the working parts of the notes) safely it may have the action makers' name and number on it somewhere, and we may be able to date the piano. This piano must be after the 1886 exhibition, although technically, it could be late 1886, but how would the vendors know if no-one else does?

Thansk, it's interesting to hear of another one. Does yours mention any dates of exhibition medals?

Any particular reason for that date? I have never seen one of their pianos.

the reason for this date is very simple....
the company existed only till 1894. (i heard  )
a friend of mine, who sold me this piano, told me, that the company only existed about 30-35 years.
maybe he´s not right.....??? i don´t know

According to my arithmetic, 100% older than 100 years would be 1805. As for value, see
