Kelman
Hi,
Has anybody any information on the maker Kelman, I have become aware of a local piano for sale by this make. It is a baby grand with the serial number 7862, is anybody aware of where I may be able to find an approximate date of manufacture.
Any information would be useful.
Many thanks
Matt

The Kelman baby grands I have seen were made shortly after the First World War, and their numbers don't run in sequence, so I suspect that this is an alias used on pianos from different factories. Certainly, I have no evidence yet of a factory of that name. #18452 was certainly sold in 1918, so yours might be pre-war.
