There are various books on players - go to Abebooks.co.ok and type in 'pianola' or 'player piano' and see what comes up. A chap called Ord-Hume wrote a heavy tome on them which might be obtainable from libraries. There is a good music department at Leeds university (until the government starve that one of money too, she said, bitterly) who might be able to help you.

'Player Piano Servicing and Rebuilding' by Reblitz is available on Amazon - I've never seen that particular book, but his book on ordinary pianos is very clear and concise, and presumably this one will be too.
Good luck!
