Yes, what sort of info are you looking for? They very kindly invited me to their factory when it closed, and gave me lots of paperwork.

Hi.. thank you. I have just purchased a mahogany upright Monington & Weston piano and would very much like to know more about the history of the company. I know they began production in 1858 and finshed in 1975, but that's about all ! Were they bought by another company after this and really any info you have would be great as to the pianos they produced, quality etc, where they were based. The serial number of the piano I have bought is 72329.. so i think it was made in 1961 ? Would very much like to know roughly what the price would have been then.

The number suggests 1961, but I don't have records of every individual piano, although I believe these do exist. Unfortunately, the owner does not use the internet! I will see what I can find about that period. Originally Monington & Co., James Weston joined later, and the name remained the same until they closed the factory in the 80s. Quality was, I suppose, an average commercial quality, but the condition of the individual is much more important.
