looking!!

Dear Looking,

You appear to be restoring an English overdamper piano with a spring and loop action. I sincerely hope you are embarking on this painstaking project for reasons of either sentimentality or pure research with no great expectations of performance. The final result should perform only slightly better than a '70s Kimball Spinet. Admittedly it will be far better looking.

I congratulate you on your determination to rebuild a piece of History that the English should forget completely.

Regards,

Guy

Certainly not!

Ask away!

In the not too distant future, yours will be the only spring and looper left on the planet as more and more nasty tuners like me persuade their owners to ditch them and buy nice shiny Japanesey things!!

*Mwahhh haaa haa....*

(and other theatrical cackles...)

This phenomenon of time warp seems to be occuring more often.
I can only tell you that when it happened to me... I had a topic open and was reading posts. Another post appeared while I was reading and I replied to that post. When it came through my reply was ahead of the post, so I figure the person who has the topic open initially and responds to a post finds their response ahead of the query....does that make any sense

Don't do that, Gem; I tried it once and I didn't like it...
