Some trivia for you visitors we had in August 2005

Total Visitors 112,150
Total Hits 1,631,850
Total Page Views 435,611
Total Data Transferred 11.99 GB

And August is normally our quietest month last August it was something like 60,000 Visitors

Thank the Gods they all don’t use the forum

Its not the questions we are asked on the forum as there are many who answer better than I do or the shed full of Emails I get. its the bandwidth forums use up a lot of computer power and bandwidth if 112,150 used the forum in a month it would crash the site with the server we are using.

Ive been told pianos.co.uk has dropped their forum

Would be a crying shame to lose the forum

it's so informative and helps so many people

If the visitors get too many we just upgrade to a bigger server and buy more bandwidth. However, any site must pay its way which at present this one is, so there is very little chance that we would drop the forum

Sorry to hear that but if he did not keep up to date with security warnings and fixes sadly the little sods will hack you. If it is the hack you can do on V2.0.5 or below then he is lucky they did not hack his entire site. He needs to visit PHPBB at least once a month to read up on the latest bugs and hacks and implement the fixes we have just don the fix to the XSS issue
