hi,
If you a beginner and are just looking for a piano to practice on then I'm sure the PR300 would be adequate for this purpose. I think that model is a few years old now, but Technics are one of the well known makes (but not the most popular)
I have used their Keyboards and they are easy to use and ideal for practice. I believe the pianos are good too- and certainly enough for practice .
The best thing to do is try it. I'm sure your friend would let you have a go. You will soon know if you like the Piano and whether it is going to be enough for your needs.
To give you an idea, I have seen that piano advertised for £150 (but that is probably the low end).
Although someone on eBay is selling the Technics PR300 Digital Piano for £100.00. (Incidentally I wouldn't advise buying second-hand pianos on line).
You don't need to spend vast sums on a digital piano if you are just a beginner.
The rules for digital pianos are easy:
1) Good make (try before you buy)
2)Set yourself a budget (ie is it for practice or performance)
3)The higher the price new the better the quality.
If you're not sure, ALWAYS try a piano before buying it
hope that helps!
Sorry for the ramble
Austin
