Wurlitzer piano

Hello!

I am planning on selling my Wurlitzer spinet piano. Before i do, i would like to get oppinions about them. What do people think of their quality and sound?

The only WurliTzers that are any good have a cable coming out of them and a vibrato knob.

yes, i agree. Wurlitzer organs are decent. Though i'm more of a pianist than an organist.

In which case, ditch the Wurlitzer! I've never come across one which sounded nice. Or even like a piano, come to that...

I meant the WurliTzer EP200....

I expect Classic_Keyboard knows and loves that particular model!

Indeed, indeed. Mind you, I'm more of a Rhodes man, myself. Crept up on an 88 Suitcase with stereo vibrato on a concert stage while the roadies weren't looking when I was 13 and never fell out of love. Jimmy Smith for Hammond, Joe Sample for Rhodes...

I've only come across one Wurlitzer piano that actually sounded decent- actually, this one had a beautiful sound, but it was one of the practice ones at my high school, so naturally it had gouges and "JON LUVS AMY" scratched into it. =/

LOL, thanks for the oppinions. I must admit this piano does have a harsh sound to it. I just assumed it needed a voicing.

tuning must be lucrative

We have litres here...so that would be 1 litre = approx 2 pints...and if I remember my English education correctly there are 8 pints in a gallon...so that's approx 4 litres of liquid gold.......An axe and some muscle power would be cheaper

So you've played a Wurlitzer piano!! Petrol's not such an issue for me; I now run a smart car on 3,5000 miles to the teaspoon. I don't offer to move many pianos, though...

an axe just seemed the more economical option

I never said that. Did I say that? I never said that. I think I actually used the word 'hate'... You see, doctor,it all started with a Wurlitzer drop action piece of nastiness in an old peoples' home in 1982. I fear I may have been psychologically scarred...
