George Russell

Post by composite7 »

We are given a George Russell piano which was with the family for over 20 years. Our children are currently learning piano on keyboard. I would like to know whether the piano is worth having, in terms of serviceability and build quality. I am also interested to find out the history. Attached some photos for reference. Thank you.

London piano maker from 2, Stanhope Street, Euston Road. Their serial number 23000 is dated 1912 and therfore your piano is about 112 years old. If it can be tuned and then holds tune it could be a reasonable piano but may need some maintence such as the hammers refacing. Suggest you arrange a visit by a tuner/technician to try to tune it and provide advice on what works need doing.
