Monington and Weston Baby Grand

Post by Brock »

Hi All,

I have recently picked up this Monington and Weston baby grand for $200 Aussie dollars, not knowing much about pianos. It’s condition is fair and is quite out of tune, I was wondering if anyone had an idea on whether these particular models were worth going to the effort of re-stringing as the previous owner said it will be required. I will find the serial number and post it in here at a later date but I was told it was a 1931 model and I’d like to get it into a condition just to begin learning.

Cheers

Suggest you engage a tuner to have a look at it and determine if the tuning pins are tight. Having it tuned would be the next step.
