Over time, the hammers of an upright piano may become loose, leading to an unsatisfactory playing experience for the pianist. There can be several reasons for this, but one main cause is when a hammer becomes loose. To fix this, you will need to use a screwdriver to tighten the main screw located under the loose hammer. If the hammer continues to be loose even after this, you will need to remove un action from the piano and, using a screwdriver, turn other screw on the opposite side of the loose hammer in a clockwise direction. This screw is located in a metal plate and is often able to reduce the looseness of the hammer.
