Menzel piano turned pianola

Post by wreckohrs »

Hi guys,

I have been trying to do some research on a (roughly) 1925 Wilhelm Menzel piano manufactured in Berlin. It has been converted into a pianola with the player action being manufactured by Ludwig Hepfeld, another German company near Berlin. It was then sold in Whiteleys in London sometime after that, ending up in Bath, UK by 1936.

I have tried searching the serial number, to no avail, and cannot find much about Menzel pianos or Hepfeld pianola manufacturing.

Any information about anything related would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks for any help

The only info in Pierce is founded in 1890
sn 1935 - 4100

Try one of the German websites. You'll find some good links in the history section.
