Are you going by the published numbers in saying it is 1880s? They are very misleading, and there are several different sets. See

No it has been in the same family for over 90 years and the last owner stated it was made in the late 1800's. I did have someone come to the house to tune it and he was very impressed at the beauty and stated it was also late 1800's but could not give me any other info because he said he has not seen one himself in his career that was before 1900.

I received an e-mail from Grove Arcade Vintage Piano Shop, Inc. These people were very informative and helpful to me on my journey of finding information about my piano. They are very nice and personal. I would recommend anyone to visit their web-site at www.vintagepianoshop.com/about.
