Anyone into Sims?
My copy of Sims 3 just arrived this morning!
I have seen the previews and things for it but has anyone got it or am I the only immature musician on this forum (he asks with marked sardonicism).

Not played a Sims game for many years, I prefer mindless death of Alien creatures - So I'll be buying the HalfLife 2 Orange Box pack

Augh! Dave!?
In short it's a bit like computerised lego where you build a house in a community, set up your character, interact with other characters and do all kinds of day-to-day stuff like decorating and equiping your house, build relationships, have a family....
Here's the youtube trailer:

You should get into it!

That's a hard game to play. You instinctively want to move up the panel to find a higher note but you have to move down to find the note name.
On my first go I got 510 and then 525 on my second, at intermediate level!
I wonder would it be an idea to include a games forum on the UK Page where we could compare score like this?

I think a game like that has its limitations because the whole point of being able to decipher a note quickly is to get the message from your head to your hand and to the note ASAP.
The game does not cater for the last point so don't worry too much about speed.
Being over ten years younger and more brain cells is obviously a serious advantage too, dave...

Not tried it yet and yes it's from the same people - it's part of the the Orange Box pack (includes: Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2)markymark wrote:Have you ever tried Portal?
Is it not from the same makers as Half Life?
I've only just got back into gaming as I switched to Apple 3 years ago (and my PC at the time wasn't great), but my new Mac is able to run games fine (via XP on bootcamp).
Recovered my old game save and carried on where I left off, was enjoying Counter Strike last night.

It's a relatively short game when compared with Half Life but it will make you think.
I loved it and have since gone back and played it again.
I know it was a pilot and has had unexpected success that a Portal 2 is supposed to be in production. Can't remember who nabbed the rights to platform it... Was it Playstation?

Not really.
I am in the middle of reports and exams at the moment. I flick in here from time to time to unwind in between reports.
I tried to build a house and designed a character which is nearly a 30 minute job if you let it get to you! The graphics are absolutely amazing. Something tells me that it's going to be the summer holidays before I get a chance to really look into it.

Well that's a relief. For Mrs Brum as well, no doubt...

I'm addicted to playing The Sims; my sister is addicted to building mansions on The Sims. I'm so addicted to it, I get proud too when the children of my Sim comes home with their A report cards !

I have been playing Sims for a decade now. I love to play with "More Traits For All Ages" mod, this one is amazing and designed to give Sims more traits as they age up, which makes the game more interesting.
