Chappell 9ft grand 1903 - save?
I have the chance to buy/ rescue a 1903 9ft Cappell.
It is in reasonable condition and complete apart from a missing ivory.
Was Chappell a quality brand and in today's world, is this still desirable?
I can repair it but it is really huge and may just be a boatanchor / waste of money and time.
A beautiful instrument though!

Chappell concert grand pianos of that era were very lovely. They were the main piano at the proms in Henry Woods time Until the BBC took it over then S&S moved in.

I said to my husband that we could always eat off it or sleep on it, when a lovely big grand was going for nothing.
I've got an upright...
I've got an upright...
I play for my own amazement...

I have an understanding partner.
But I made the fatal error of ignoring the fact that I already have a Weber grand piano standing exactly where I assumed the space for this new one
My latest scheme is a mezzanine floor in the lounge
But even my understanding partner will probably say no to that one.
I suppose I could store the piano but what is the point of that? And will I EVER have more space? The tendency is for less space over time, not more.
Space, the final frontier...
