Piano on wooden floor / remove wheels ?

Post by luckas »

Hi,

I'm curious as to what the conventional wisdom is with situating a piano on a wooden floor.

I presume it is okay to leave the 'wheels' attached to the base, but that that any uneveness should be packed ?

Any other issues to take into consideration ?

Thanks,

Paul

...and a wooden floor will make the piano sound louder than a rug/carpet underneath would. If you're moving the piano across the floor, roll it across hardboard so as not to gouge marks on the wood; not all piano castors turn as well as they should, particularly on old pianos!
