D'almaine upright
Hi, i've been trying to find out the date of a 6 octave piano i was looking at. The make is D'almaine, and the serial number (on the frame?) is 51883. It has a slight art deco look to it... any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

D'Almaine

Thomas D'Almaine died over a century ago, and more modern pianos bearing his name were made at more than one factory, so numbering is unpredictable. Sme were made by Challen, some may have been Kemble, some were made by Bentley. The name seems to have been used by W.H. Barnes, a large London retailer, and the nearest on my files is 1928 - D'Almaine piano #52,400 from Barnes, keys dated 25 Nov 28, piano made by Bentley. See
