Pianola Factory in Middlesex around 1911

Hello

I hope you can help me. I am researching family history and I have an uncle who lived near Uxbridge, Middlesex and worked in a pianola factory.

I see there was the Aeolian, in Hayes, and that may well have been where he worked. unless there was another one nearby perhaps?

I was hoping you might be able to help me. I am sorry that I have so little information, but the Census form does not provide any other clues. His name was John Grant, by the way.

First, you need to understand that Pianola is just one of many brands of what are properly known as Player Pianos. The factory at Hayes was involved with several names, including Aeolian, Pianola, Weber and Orchestrelle, but I have never been clear about which was the parent company. I confess a certain lack of interest in pianos that don't have pianists.

There are articles and pictures online. I doubt if there was another one in Middlesex, but there is often confusion because parts of London are technically in Middlesex.
