70's Yamaha U1 Advice

Post by luckas »

Hello,

I have an opportunity to buy a U1 - 70s vintage. The price is about 1/3 of a new one - I'd value any thoughts on whether this represents reasonable value, and whether there are any significant concerns with the Yamaha U1s of the 70s.
The piano itself appears and sounds to be excellent condition.

Thanks,

Paul

Bass strings tend to go quite quickly with moderate playing on 70s- also there is an issue with loos tuning pins on the older Yamahas

If you are buying from a dealer most are now giving a 5 year Guarantee which will cover you for most problems
