Knight

I have a Knight piano but am not sure whether the number stamped in the end inside the lid is the serial number it is 2460. If it is what can I find out about it?

Only the date. If that was the serial number it would be a very old one, 1939, but piano numbers are rarely simple or straightforward, because most pianos have several numbers inside. Often you can find them by just lifting the top, or some are on the back of the piano, near the top.

Normally with a Knight, the quick and reliable way to date it is by removing the few keys at the bottom (left) end and there should be a date there. See
