Hi

I am a pianist and for the last two years have been performing on an upright piano distributed by the agent J.Claypole & Sons. I have spoken to the company that has succeeded them a JM Spink organ builders in Leeds regarding any history. The only manufacturers stamp I can find is on the action that was made by Herrburger Brooks of London. The serial number on the piano casing is 27906. I have included an image. Any history or ideas where to look would be appreciated.

Serial numbers don't help with this name. The action dates it after 1919. The Claypole firm existed at least as early as 1894, but the piano looks more like something from the twenties. Have a look at

Do you have any idea about what is the value of one this piano( claypole)

I have the serial number 5718, The last owner said that piano is more than 100 years old,and it is in perfect conditions
