Princess Piano

I have a Kawai Princess Piano patent number 104957, 171019
I have read a few things on it and seen other people posting about it. It's in great shape but I just don't know what it would be valued at. Doesn't have to be an exact amount just an estimate on its value. If you have any idea please let me know!

Nobody anywhere can guess the value or condition of a piano without inspecting it on the spot, and tuning it, so your local tuner is the best person to ask.

In half a century of dealing with such enquiries, I have never found anyone who is able to value a piano in any other way. They are not quality pianos, but they have a certain novelty value. Years ago, one failed to sell for seventy pounds. I bought a similar type of instrument at a local auction for twenty pounds. It was scruffy but in working order. This does not help us with the likely value of yours.

If you delivered it to my door, I might offer you thirty pounds, but some people who have never seen one might get a little more excited!

I may have said this before, but in view of the number of times one gets asked to value a piano on this forum, why don't you get the site webmaster to:-
i) Change the colour of the 'Please don't ask us to place a value on your piano as an on site inspection is required.' statement in the header.
2) And make the font at least 4 times larger, and animated i.e. flashing. That imho would be more useful than having those animated smiley figures on the r/h side.
It wouldn't catch the eye of our local village idiot of course, but believe it would cut down the number of related questions, and subsequent replies.

At the risk of revealing trade secrets, I am a piano historian, and in the course of being asked for valuations, I get a huge amount of useful historical information, as well as photos of pianos I wouldn't otherwise see. If you look at the top of the forum, it says in bold capitals "HISTORY, NOT VALUATION".

A lot of people tend to relate history to valuation as though they go hand in hand.... bit like Antiques Roadshow. After some history is talked about etc, the expert then says "I suppose you want to know its value?"

If your idea should ever get implemented here, just wait for the number of people to complain after having pressed that button - with or without a touch-sensitive screen.......
Seriously though, reading between the lines, Bill clearly doesn't mind the number of queries for valuations, as it generally generates added piano information. In other words, the fact that the heading is not 'foolproof' works to his advantage - and that I can understand. Pity about those under-worked smilies though.
