The demise of 'Top Gear'
So, the question is posed.... Suppose the most serious candidate would be Willson, but Titchmarsh is made for it, isn't he?? Stopping in the middle of a thousand mile road race across the Serengeti for tea and a natter.....

Possibly Suzi Perry or Jacqui Oatley?? Clarkson will possibly do some cosying up to the Supreme Governor of the right wing redtop for which he writes a column to get TG moved to Sky.

for me Suzi Perry...
The BBC has one big advantage no advertisers to dictate programming. I would not be happy if it moved to Sky
Don't rule out BT they are now moving into TV

Chris Moyles would be another outsider. You know, that yobbo that used to be on Radio 1 in the morning. Clarkson and Murdoch/Sky are a match made in heaven. Because of the BBC's nature it is subject to scrutiny by us, the Great British license payer/public. But Rupert Murdoch has carte blanche to do whatever he wants and get away with it untouched and unchallenged so he's be glad to have this big headed libertarian thug on board. The BBC would do well to look to new talent, and possibly new ideas. When TG was made in Birmingham and presented by Judith Hann and William Woollard (both also ex-Tomorrows World) the programme was more about the cars than the presenters.

I've just googled Guy Martin. In his favour, he seems to have all the qualifications in love of speed and machismo, but there is another possibility he could turn into another Clarkson, under the auspices of ratings conscious BBC producers.

Sue Perkins is now mentioned as a possible replacement. She is after all on the BBC's books. She is also a personality and not a serious motoring journalist (not though Clarkson was ever that).
