Oehler, Stuttgart

All I can tell you at the moment is that Oehler was established in 1857, and was still in business in the 1920s. I don't quite understand what you mean about "regarded", are these dates of exhibition medals? See

But they can't know it. Nobody should just glibly state a price to you for an antique instrument without having it checked over by a tuner-technician. If it is untuneable, it may be worthless. Oehler was established in 1857, this is not the date of the piano. It didn't necessarily have a matching stool with it, that would be a special order. As for the date, the best hope is that if the action is marked with the name and number of the action makers, we may be able to date this. Also, if you email photos of the whole piano to me, I may be able to estimate the date.

Thanks for the photos, I would guess this piano was made around 1898. Certainly, it was made after the 1881 exhibition, where Oehler received a medal.
