Haake
Post by Bill Kibby »
You are heading in slightly the wrong direction, because the piano was by Haake, and sold by the British & Continental. They are presumably the NZ branch of the british firm of that name, about whom some information is mentioned on the Public Record Office website. As for the piano, dates of Haake's numbers are not published, but I have some estimates, and this number may be from the mid-1920s. The PRO also has information about the Haake piano agency, but I have not obtained this yet. The best bet for confirming the date is if the action has the action-makers' name and number, but you may need to ask your tuner to look for this.
