Jarrett & Goudge, London

Post by cole »

I have a piano that I bought, don't know much about it: It says Jarrett & Goudge London 1696 and it has Ivory keys. Just wondering if anybody knows any thing about it and how much it may be worth?
Thanks Cole

When you are searching for just a name, it is vital to check the spelling. My article at

http://www.uk-piano.org/piano-gen/datem ... ianos.html

covers the fact that most makers go through a period when their numbers resemble years. The numbers published by Michel were wrong, and the ones in Musicians' Piano Atlas were based on nothing more than my comment that the others were about 40 years out! If this is the only number, it would suggest a date before 1885. See
