Hilton and Hilton Gold Medal Series

We recently acquired a Hilton and Hilton Gold Medal Series upright piano. The only markings ive seen on it so far was above the keys inside the piano and it said 13510. Can anyone tell me anything about this piano? Were planning on selling it. Its had some wear and tear. Any estimates on what it may go for? Thanks a lot from America.

Their serial numbers were around 26000 in 1924, but no dates are published, I got this from the pianos themselves. Have a look at the Datemarks page at www.PianoGen.org

The number suggests that your piano was made in 1924, it should be dated on the keys.

#26582 Hilton & Hilton Regd. piano is dated 8/8/24 on keys, H&H on the frame.

Hi,

I have just bought a Hilton & Hilton Gold Medal Piano, so far the only number I have found is 9982 inside under the lid and on the back of the piano. I would love to know a little history about it and when it was made if anyone has any info. I looked on pianohistory.info but got a bit lost on the site.

I'm sorry you got lost, there are hundreds of pages, it's a big subject. That number suggests that it was made shortly before 1902, so perhaps technically Victorian, but more like the pianos at

However, most pianos have several numbers inside. No archives are available to trace individual Hilton pianos. It should be dated on the keys, see

I've had a look with a torch inside at the keys but I can't see any other numbers just the two inside the lid and the same on the back. There were at some point, i'm guessing, candle sticks or something similar attached. I would really like to see if I can replace them as there are the screw holes where they must have been fixed. Is there a good place to look for replacements that anyone can recommend?

Also, what would anyone recommend for trying to brighten up the colour of it, any old tricks anyone can recommend as it's dull in some places.
