How to play this part faster?

Post by enirak132 »

Hi!

I'm currently practicing Jarrod Radnich's Pirates of the carribbean:

At, 0:59 - 1:02....

The parts circled in red:

I simply can't play the right hand fast enough! My fingering is:

1 - 3 - 5 - 1- 3 - 5 - 3 - 1
(chord)
1 - 2 - 5 - 1 - 2 - 5 - 2 - 1
(chord)
1 - 2 - 5 - 1 - 2 - 5 - 2 - 1

It's especially the transition between the pinkie and the thumb that I can't do fast enough... Is my fingering wrong? Is there a way that I should move my hand that would make me play that part faster? Or is it just practice and practice until I get it right? Advice anyone??

P-S : I'm level 8 RCM (don't have a piano teacher to ask anymore)

P-S-S: My hands are VERY small, but I don't think having small hands particularly affects my playing...

I would probably change sequence 1 (A minor arpeggio) to 1 - 2 - 5 like the others - however, it is impossible to comment or even attempt to teach any kind of technique on a forum for wrist/ hand movement/ and any technical aspects.... need a teacher to physically demonstrate, and use of constant repetition. Hand size is also important - even though attempted to be brushed under the carpet.

Pay a good piano teacher a one-off fee for an hour's lesson - and then see some results.
Some would need a copy of some of the music prior to the lesson - if beyond sight reading.
