Making Bösendorfer More Austrian...
It's a question that's been rattling around in my head... What has happened to Boesendorfer since Yamaha purchased the company in 2008? This month we take a quick look behind the scenes with Ed Bezursik and Simon Oss into this company that is the oldest premier piano manufacturer in the world. I agree with Barrie, I had the site time out too.
Excuse my ignorance, but on the above comment - and also mentioned in the blog, what exactly does, "the oldest premier piano manufacturer in the world" mean?
If it's what I think it means, I can think of one first rate company still in existence which is older than Bosendorfer.

I was playing the piano in a zoo, when the elephant burst into tears. I said, "Don't you recognize the tune?" He replied, "No, I recognize the ivories!"

Yes indeed. Burkat Shudi founded that company in 1728 and still in operation today.NewAge wrote: If it's what I think it means, I can think of one first rate company still in existence which is older than Bosendorfer.
Bosie opened 100 years later.

I was thinking of Sauter (1819) compared to 1827 - Bösendorfer.
