I have a Wheelock baby grand but cannot locate serial number. I know it should be on soundboard, but nothing. There are some letters/words imprinted on the front of soundboard-(CAPO D') is all that I can see without removing part of the piano itself. It does have the Wheelock medallion symbol imprinted in the soundboard but no serial number that I can find. Can anyone help? I want to sell this piano but have no idea what to ask. Thanks in advance for your help!

This is a UK site, I've never seen a Wheelock piano over here in 42 years, and there is no fixed rule that says serial numbers are on soundboards, they can be in all sorts of places. Far too much emphasis is placed on the supposed reliability of numbers, see

As to its value, the number won't tell you that, you need a report from your tuner.

Thanks, Bill, for your informative article on piano numbers. I know y'all are a UK sight, but can't find much info and I wanted to start somewhere! I appreciate your help.
