Eberhardt - Hays
I have an upright Eberhardt - Hays piano and would like to find out the age and value. I understand that the Eberhardt & Hays company was in existence in the early 1900's in Wichita but that is all the information I have found. Inside the piano is a stamp that says Eberhardt - Hays. Underneath that is says "Special" and underneath that "Chicago - Wichita". I do have the serial number but have been unable to find anything online that helps me determine age or value. Can anyone help?

Nobody can guess the value or condition without being there to inspect it and tune it. As for its age, it was probably made by Foster-Armstrong, and should follow their serial numbers. I have no other information on Eberhardt-Hays.

Did he make pianos with his mate the music teacher, My Hays?
I play for my own amazement...

Not that I know of, but he did occasionally turn up at school in his slippers or his jumper on inside-out.Gill the Piano wrote:Did he make pianos with his mate the music teacher, My Hays?

I have an Eberhardt-Hays Upright piano with Serial # 40201, and it was built in the fourth quarter of 1915. The first serial number used in 1915 was 37800, and there were 3200 pianos built in 1915. The pianos were manufactured by Foster-Armstrong Company. Mine has marked on the Inside plate
