Gors&Kallmann Piano
I have a Kallmann Grand piano, in good condition, been in my family at least 35yrs, with the following information on it:
Cramer, 139 New Bond Street W
Gors & Kallmann, Hof-Lieferanten Sr. Maj. d. Kaisers u Konigs, BERLIN
(there is no serial no. but the following info is printed inside piano body)
R. Gors & Kallmann, Berlin, Hoflieferanten,
Sr. Majestat D. Deutschen Kaisers, Konigs V. Preussen
Sr. Majestat D. Kaisers V. Oesterreich, und Konigs V. Ungarn
Do you know what the wording means, and possibly estimate the age? I would appreciate any information you could share with me. Thank you!
Gloria I.

Gors&Kallmann Piano reply
Hello Mr. Kibby,
I never received an email but thank you for your response here. I thought you might be familiar with the German wording, and thought perhaps the piano might have been made for someone very important and in turn give a hint to the age. I will look at the pianogen page as you mentioned. Thank you again!

It must be one of the strange coincidences which occur regularly here, for reasons which no-one can explain, I receive two enquiries about Gors & Kallmann pianos sold by Cramers at that address! AND the other one also asked about the wording. My german is almost non-extistent, but it talks about supplying to the Court, in Berlin and Austria, for Kings and Kaisers. The Cramer addresswas used for over a century and doesn't help us with dates, and you have given us no other clues to work with. The three options are serial numbers, which may be visible inside the top, names and numbers on the action (which may involve help from your tuner) or a report based on photos.
