Serial numbers don't help if we don't knoe the maker, but SH is probably the initials of the retailer. See

If you could find out the name/make of your piano there is an interesting link at "pianos.co.uk" which I have written below. If you click on the make of your piano and type in the serial number it will tell you roughly how old your piano is. Hope I could be of help :D

Nameless pianos

Many people are frustrated if their piano does not have a name on the front but, to be honest, most names mean very little anyway, and dating a piano by its serial number is not as easy or as reliable as it sounds, see
