Techs in the North West?
New member - I hope this isn't the wrong kind of question here. I live in Merseyside and while there is no shortage of piano tuners around, I'm finding it difficult to get hold of a technician. Specifically I am looking for someone with experience of piano voicing. Can anyone recommend name(s)? Obviously I'd be prepared to look at having someone come from Chester, Manchester or further afield if that turned out to be necessary.

Dear Barrie,
I have a newish Schimmel upright piano. It's quite a powerful instrument and currently sitting in a fairly small and live room. I've always liked the Schimmel sound but find it a shade overpowering in general in the small space. (Obviously I am also looking into ways to dampen the space too.)
A more specific issue (which ultimately may be a separate one needing an audiologist) is that I sometimes get ringing and buzzing in my ears when some notes in the treble (mostly, but not always, the same ones) are played. That's on the left mostly - I sustained a whack here a couple of years ago and have had intermittent problems since then!
Thanks for your interest!

Schimmels uprights are normally quite timid tone wise I have toned down a few of their grands but their uprights normally only need levelling out
However, if you have the beginnings of tinnitus a bright sounding note will give you grief I do cover Liverpool but it will be a few weeks before I am in that area
