Advice on buying new baby grand

Post by mlb7171 »

I would like to buy a baby grand piano. I know that there is some compromise on sound perhaps compared with a full size upright. But the grand would also be a wonderful piece of furniture. My budget is probably no more than £7500. Suggestions of what makes and models to buy would be incredibly helpful, and/or for this money if I would be better looking at second hand or restored. Many thanks.

your money will go further with a second-hand one look at the pianos for sale by shops on this site to start with most come with a Guarantee Then look at pianos for GP but I would get a tuner to look at them

As to new my first chose would be Kawai GM-10 then Yamaha GB1K they both give you more bang for your buck as the Yanks would say. There are quite a few sales on at the moment so you maybe lucky.

If you go for Chinese makes then try to get one around 6 foot long, smaller than that, they are very disappointing in the mid range and top after a year or so
