Laurinat piano
Hi all,
I have recently been given an upright piano, it seems to be quite old and in need of some repair, however I am intrigued to find out as much information on it as possible.
I have taken note of a various numbers and dates from around the piano itself, please bear with me as I'm not very clued up about pianos.
This is an 85 key upright piano
There's a plaque that says. Laurinats & co BERLIN
The part where the hammer rail is. Oscar Kohler BERLIN.n.o. possible a.o.
Also a serial number off. 207347
And further down the hamme rail serial number. 32228
Behind the piano wires serial number. R.18063
And on on of the bits of wood inside the piano the date of 6-10-50 T
Any information on this piano would be greatfully appreciated. Thankyou for reading.

Laurinat (without the S) was established in 1879, and seems to have ended with the 1914 war. No dates of serial numbers are available, but the Kohler number suggests a date around 1905. Without photos, I can't say if this is likely. 85 notes was the normal arrangement. The '50 date is probably for a tuner or repairer in 1950.

Re: Laurinats piano
Thankyou Bill, as I mentioned it's in a need of repair, it doesn't look to complicated so I may attempt to fix or restore the areas I can. I did think the 1950 mark would probably be from a tuner. Any how it looks great in my house and sounds even better. Cheers again. Steve.
