:? Does anyone know anything about restoring a Krakauer & Bros Upright Piano. My father has acquired this piano and would like to restore it

There is very little difference in the procedures involved in restoring pianos the main areas of problems if any are in restoring older pianos pre 1950, the hammers and the regulating

New hammers are a lot more dense than the hammer of the 1900s so the extra weight can cause problems on both uprights and grands but more so on grands recovering is sometimes a better option on the regulating that is a judgment call and experience


You need a good book and a local tuner who will help if you get stuck we can help but only to a point as regulating is all about touch
