I hurt my back a few days ago, it's been agony. Then, while walking the dog last night, I caught my foot on a tussock of grass and fell over without putting my hand out, landing flat and winding myself. So, now my back hurts and my sternum. I went to Te$co to get more ibuprofen and, as they are only packs of 16 and I don't want to go out much, I put 3 boxes in my basket. OH NO she said, I can only sell you TWO boxes.

For goodness sake, nanny state! If they want to pretend to be protecting our health, why don't they stop shops selling 24 cans of strong rubbish beer for pence

A very valid point Nutroast, I've tried to stock up on tablets before and been told all I can buy is two packets. Maybe you should have bought some Deep Heat or something!

Could only happen in the UK eh?? (where you can get a pizza faster than an ambulance!)

Suffice to say I can't abide big league football and it's grossly overpaid players.

Anyway, dragging this back, I had apparently managed to break at least one rib, but as they don't x-ray now we can't tell if it was more than one. One's enough! Luckily my gp was sympathetic and gave me stronger painkillers which definitely helped and things are gradually getting better.

You've got to get a piano, Dave, there's got to be a space somewhere. Where the telly is, perhaps?

Yes, there are foot pedals, but I give them a stiff ignoring as I don't have the puff for them; it's amazing how physically tiring it is to play the pedals. So I stick to early English organ music which doesn't need the pedals, and nobody complains!
When I'm Queen, sport on telly will be limited to one channel, one day a week. I wonder of I can be crowned before the poxy olympics?

Play summat else then. Just do your two a day then FORGET IT. I keep saying that SR is a weeny bit of the exam. Do your best and let the rest of the exam carry you through, like I used to with scales (my personal bugbear).

Of COURSE you can learn new pieces. You have managed to date. Just do your 2 exercises, then REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME, carry on with the rest of the practice.

Yet again my local church haven't published last week's newsletter. They didn't publish any of the January ones until the first week and February and I had to keep badgering their webmaster (under a secure pseudonym, of course) to get them on. I really do not understand why they are connected to the information superhighway if they cannot bother to provide any information - do they not realise there are folk in the parish that take an interest in their church and its activities???

What would drive her more mad with rage is this thing in the Birmingham Mail about this bloke in his 50s who was not allowed to have piano lessons as a boy but took up the piano in his 30s and despite having many difficulties with depression, other health issues, paranoia, concentration and yes, reading music and several local teachers who refused to take this person on solely because of the fact he has mental health issues, including one Birmingham Church organist who shattered his confidence by calling him 'the awkwardest person I have ever had the misfortune to teach' the result of which meant he didn't even touch a piano for over 12 months.

Drove past the church again this morning, she wasn't there even though her car was outside her house. I think she's gone away on hollies! Either that or she's skedaddled to Syria and become a jihadi bride or something.....

BREAKING NEWS the March newsletters are up. There are collections advertised for the new 'Organ Repair Fund' - well, according to Mabel, it's only half an organ.

There's also lots and lots of Welsh on the St.Davids Day newsletter, however it is also peppered with lots of misguided Jeremy Clarkson-esque untruths and stereotypes about Wales and its lovely Celtic language. Bearing in mind the Welsh language thrived through religion, Nonconformity and independence, so we would expect this from the established Church, wouldn't we??

I remember seeing an interview with (Welsh actress and singer) Caryl Parry Jones and she said that one of the two things that made her mad were people who say hateful things about the Welsh language. I agree with her. Not spoke in Welsh for ages on here, have I??

Went to Derby yesterday and got stuck in the worst traffic chaos I've ever been stuck in as long as I've been forced to drive. There was a vehicle fire in one of the tunnels in the city centre and the tailbacks were a good three miles long. So I tried to divert myself through Handsworth and voila - they shut Soho Road as well (not connected with vehicle fire). And all the time I was busting for a weewee

Then, on the way back from Oxford, we decided to call off at the Waitrose at Headington. It doesn't have its own car park but there is a council car park adjacent to it that serves Headington village. It cost us £1.40 to park for a minimum of 2 hours at 1855h. Free parking doesn't commence until 2000h.

At Droitwich Waitrose, which is also adjacent to a council car park an hour costs 50p and if you spend a certain amount in 'the Rose' then you get it back. This doesn't apply in Headington. Also charging in Droitwich ends at 1800h.

Would Droitwich folk pay THAT!!!

Oh, Erdz, as we call it. On a hill between the city centre and Sutton Coldfield in the north of the city. We're in the south near the border with Worcestershire. I met an Erdingtonian at a church event on the estate in Sheffield I used to live on. She had a daughter called Tanya who knew all of 'Jilted John'. Did you tell her you knew someone from Brum??

It didn't say in Waitrose, we looked!

Yes, Chelmsley Wood, in the east of the city and to the north of Birmingham Airport. Right next to a place called Smiths Wood. Does Kate play a musical instrument?

Went to Telford today, not far at all but was diverted no less than 3 times.

On the way to the M5 we went straight past the church. The Phantom Organist was there but we noticed her car was pointing the opposite way to the way it usually is, i.e down St.Jasons Road rather than upwards. Then we get back in the evening and we notice there had been some pictures posted on the church Twitter feed. Now, the person who manages the social media platform at St.Jasons is the same person who manages the church website which means the news blackout is king. In spite of this though, they issue an automatic tweet early every Sunday morning that usually goes something like this:

Good morning. We hope to see you at our Holy Communion service.

Today however I log on to Twitty and find that there are some pictures posted of the Palm Sunday parade into church and some long service honours for the choir, which is of course presided over by the Director of Music

. There were some lovely pictures of our lovely Vicar, whom I really like. Now what is there to whinge about there, Mr.Brum, I hear you bellow? The last picture included a rear shot of Fanny blithering Fosdyke on the parade into church looking equally as respectful and as arrogant as a corrupt duchess. I am unhappy again.

I counted 4 whinges there, much less that the amount of extra gigs she's got for Holy Week (for which we don't know what's going on there as nobody's bothered to tell us!)

And it looks like I won't be getting a palm cross this year either as the rain is lashing it down outside and I'm blowed if I'm going out in that just to tidy one up on St.Jasons Road. Pity as I have a spare vase. That's whinge no5.

UPDATE there's now ANOTHER photo of the nasty little schweinhund standing at the altar being 'honoured' by Father for her choir work. She's had to do quite a bit of brown nosing for that - but if only Father knew exactly what this person has said/done to me and why I cannot go to church. I am a victim of this gross miscarriage of justice.

My whinge; my pooter is possessed. It turned off its own touch screen thingy and decided it wanted a mouse. I've never ever used a mouse. Fortunately a passing ive year old (well, 20, but he looked 5) fixed it. Bottle of white wine well spent.

There are lots of free note reading games etc. if you use Google to locate them. You can also download and print free flash cards, which is what I'm on at the moment.

Oh and those ones on pianofanny.co.uk are still free.

The problem is if we turn off the Click one, press two, Now jump backwards stuff... the forum will soon fill up with crap about Kitchens, Strange toys and nowt else..

Was not too pleased when I found I'd gained 1.5kg when I stepped on the scales this morning. I haven't been 112kg for years - it's all these Easter eggs, my own Green and Blacks 70% cocoa one plus the two cheap and foul tasting ones I got from my neighbour for doing her front lawn.

I have to put two coats of whitewash in the walkin cupboard in the room I'm doing this week. I'll never be able to fit all of my blubbery mass in there and I may get trapped so I must remember my cellphone to call 112 if I need to.....
