glad you're okay Fiona (I've not been the same but I won't go into all that in public) . Had an evening trying to plough through my homework (Gymnopedie from Classics to Moderns bk3. There's a very dodgey bit of fingering there in the middle section.

how is Caroline???
She's fine, thanks for asking. You're going to have to go some to catch up with her weight loss, Dave :lol: She now has a BMI of 22.5! She's doing really well at college ( on track for an 'A' in Higher Maths) and has just signed up for a full-time course starting in August. She will be doing one Advanced Higher (Maths) and Higher Physics and Higher Psychology.

Hmmm.....there are days when I'm not sure at all :lol:

She certainly doesn't take after her mother - I achieved a 'B', much to my late father's amazement. He was an engineer by profession and good at all things maths related. Hee maintained that I had a 'non-logical brain'! Perhaps that is why I enjoy piano tuning :lol: :lol:

Hi Dave,
Some nice playing there, well done. Is the Yamaha your teacher's piano?
The Mozart sounded nice - some tricky fingerwork there!
I may suggest though to be careful using the sustain pedal as much in Mozart..... your phrasing is nicely shaped, but better if all LH arpeggios & 'alberti' figures are mainly joined legato with your fingers only!

I'd also like to hear your Grade 3 pieces if you get a chance.
Are you doing the Prelude in C? .... if so, some tricky mordents in the left hand!
Keep up the good work.

I was thrown out of the bottom of the bottom division in Maths, forbidden to do O level and made to do Latin instead...perhaps piano tuning isn't as logical and mathematical as they make out! I had a customer who was a Theoretical Physicist (no, no idea) tell me that tuning was mostly maths. 'Don't tell me that, I shan't be able to do it,' I said.
I did do remedial maths when I got to the LCF, but I don't think they won.
Dave; no gigs tomorrow - just have to go & see The Mothership and make her lunch. Sigh...
I play for my own amazement... :piano;

And although have no gigs, I have to go and rasp away at the contralto in the choir at chapel tomorrow...
