To recondition or to buy another piano?

The price sounds fairly right to me. Unfortunately you can't budget for sentiment; I speak as a woman who's spent more on her Morris Minor than it'll ever be worth... Some years ago I had a similar dilemma; the piano my parents had bought me was no longer capable of giving me the sound I needed, but I was attached to it. No room for two pianos, so I reasoned that if I sold my original instrument, at least the money from my old piano would be incorporated into the (more expensive) new one. Mad logic, perhaps, but I play my Bluthner with a clear conscience and my parents' blessing! Your playing will suffer if the rebuild doesn't work, and you'd be five grand poorer...I think I'd cut my losses and go for a new one.
