F. Sebastian London & Paris
Hi,
I have this piano, the serial number in side is 27656. I am trying to find out anything about it, just out of interest but can't. anyone heard of this piano? It is an upright, vertically strung.

These are British pianos, but no dates of serial numbers are available. Some are probably made by Kemble, which would place this number in the late twenties. Without photos of the whole piano, it is difficult to say whether this is likely.

This is a stock number for Waring & Gillow, but unfortunately, if you google W&G you will get endless references to the "Will & Grace" TV programme. It looks like a twenties piano, so perhaps they sold it new then, or they may have sold it secondhand, later. It could well be a Kemble, in which case the serial number may be preceded by the letter K, and positioned at keyboard level inside the piano, at the back.
